Morph: What neighborhood do you live in?
Sarah: I live in Northeast Minneapolis, and I love the quiet streets, the old architecture, and the down to earth folks. The growing number of shops and restaurants along 13th Avenue are perfect to walk or bike to and are some of the most fun places in the city! Northeast is so accessible to downtown and pretty much anywhere else in the city you need to go. In my opinion, the best places to visit in Northeast are: The Anchor Fish & Chips for amazing food, Boom Island Park for a romantic walk by the river, the 331 Club for free live music, and Psycho Suzi’s for great pizza.

M: Favorite restaurants, clubs, hang-outs, favorite things about the cities?
S: I love the extensive green space in Minneapolis - the bike paths, the parks, the water - there’s always a new place to explore. I love the choice in food co-ops too, but my favorite is the Seward Co-op’s new deli. And if I could eat one thing every day from this city, it would be True Thai’s Mock Duck Pad Thai. Yum...

M: What do you do for fun?
S: My favorite things to do in my spare minutes usually involve a hammock, a grill, delicious food & drink, my friends & family, and my adorable dog Freya. Or my bike. Or my canoe. Or when I can’t be outdoors - thrift stores! There are some great treasures to find all over the city.

M: What do you do in your everyday life, and your home to be 'green'?
S: I either bike or carpool to work whenever possible. I work and shop close to where I live, and try to buy second-hand for almost everything. At home, we recycle everything, and are planning on starting to compost this summer. Electronics in our home are on timers to cut off “ghost” energy leaking while we’re at work, and we don’t use the AC in the summer to keep our energy use down. And I use natural or homemade solutions for everything from cleaning products to make-up.

M: 2 truths and a lie?
S: My dog’s tongue is all black. I once had a pet goat named Xena. I love going bungee jumping.

M: If money was no object, what projects would you do to your home?
S: Most of my house projects involve my yard, since it’s used so often by both me and my dog. I’d love to have a wooden privacy fence and a new patio. And a built-in brick oven in the yard would be great for entertaining! Efficient appliances and plumbing fixtures, and some cool vintage furniture finds would be great to have as well. I also learned that raising kitchen countertops a few inches makes it much easier on taller people to work at, so that would be an interesting project to try!

M: Why do you love working at Metamorphosis?
S: My passion has always been homes, so working for a company that deals with houses from every angle is so much fun for me! It feels really good to do what I love while working for a local business, and woman-owned at that. And my co-workers are just so enthusiastic and talented!
