"Cash mobs" support local businesses, no dancing allowed.

There's a new way to support your local economy and grow community at the same time. "Cash Mobs", an organized group gathering at a local business with the sole purpose of spending money, are gaining in popularity across the country. Organized via social media, these groups pick a local business that they feel could use some support and vow to spend roughly $20 each at a predetermined date and time. (And no, there's no singing or dancing.) The idea is to grow community awareness of the value behind small, locally-owned businesses. Read more in this article by Public Radio International.
